Six steps to complete journey protection
Sign up with your profile details and choose a unique username. Your username is your identity on SafePath — it cannot be changed or reused once taken.
Search for and connect with people you trust using their SafePath usernames. They receive a connection request and must accept to become your trusted contact.
Enter your starting location, destination, and any optional travel notes before you depart. This info appears on your trusted contacts' dashboards.
Click "Track My Journey" to begin live GPS monitoring. Your trusted contacts receive an instant notification and can view your real-time location.
Your location updates periodically while the journey is active. In emergencies, the alert button instantly broadcasts your GPS coordinates to your trusted network.
Tap "I've Arrived Safely" when you reach your destination. Tracking stops, your contacts are notified, and the journey is marked complete.

Our tracking uses your device's native HTML5 Geolocation API, which is typically accurate to 5–20 meters. Accuracy depends on your device, GPS signal strength, and whether you are indoors or outdoors. Mobile data must remain active for continuous updates.
Location data is stored for your journey record. Completed journey locations are retained in your history. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your profile settings. We do not sell or share your data with third parties.
NO. SafePath is a safety communication platform — not an emergency dispatch service. Emergency alerts are sent to your trusted contacts and our admin system ONLY. Always call 112 or your local emergency number for immediate law enforcement or ambulance response.
Absolutely NOT. SafePath is a consent-based system. Users must voluntarily activate tracking. You cannot see anyone's location unless they have added you as a trusted contact AND they have started a journey. This is fundamental to our design.
Trusted contacts must be registered SafePath users. You search by their unique username, send a request, and they must accept. Once connected, they receive notifications when you start a journey, trigger an emergency, or arrive safely — all within the platform dashboard.
Yes! SafePath Nigeria is free to register and use. Core safety features including GPS tracking, emergency alerts, trusted contacts, and journey history are all available at no cost to every Nigerian.
